    Enabling Audio in the Controller

These Squeezebox things are great, trouble is all the user guides etc seem to have been written by "Marketing dudes".

I have just gotten a controller (I set up the receiver using UDAP first), It auto upgraded to 7.5 and I cannot find anywhere in the menu system to enable it as a player. I see it has a headphone socket and I read somewhere that you could do it, but mine doesn't seem to have the option in any menu.

Has any of you been able to do this in 7.5 or did logitech remove the feature?

    Thanks

    Bob

It's something like Settings -- Advanced -- Beta features -- Audio playback. It's in there.
    -Skinny
This sentence says less than a list of audio equipment.

Btw it's not in the official documentation because it's not an advertised feature. It's still a beta feature and something they don't want to have to support officially.

Skinny that worked a treat, but if I plug my headphones into the controller, the sound still comes out of the tiny speaker in the back, is this normal or does the headphone socket work for anyone else?

    Thanks

headphone detection is only working for the minority I guess.
Search for the Headphone Switcher plugin/applet to manually switch to headphone out.

You will find plenty of threads about the headphones feature (and all its problems and workarounds) if you search this forum.
Did you know: SqueezePlayer will stream all your music to your Android device. Take your music everywhere!
Remote Control + Streaming to your iPad? Squeezebox + iPad = SqueezePad
Want to see a Weather Forecast on your Radio/Touch/Controller ? => why not try my Weather Forecast Applet
Want to use the Headphones with your Controller ? => why not try my Headphone Switcher Applet
