I own the Duet and a Boom. Been thinking bout getting a SB Radio for the garage. But Jeez-O-Man... After reading this forum, it sounds like the latest firmware is still in beta. Sounds pretty buggy. Anyone have a good experience?

Does anyone recommend the SB Radio?

Mine sits on my desk at work, and is probably the player I use most.
FWIW, most of the complaints about the radio are the alarm (which I don't use, so I don't care if it works or not) and MySB, which likewise I don't use.

Agree, mine just works. I don't use the alarm, I'm retired and don't
agree to meetings in the morning.
I've used MySB a couple of times, but most of the time I just use it to
stream radioIO.
No problems.

I think the Boom would sound a lot better in a room the size of a garage, particularly if you're not sitting right in front of it. I also like navigating menus a lot more on the Boom than I do the Radio. The knobs and buttons on the Radio are small and too close together.

I have one in each bedroom. The SB Radio makes a great alarm clock. I haven't had any problems with any of them. I did see the Boom was on sale for $149. For that price I would buy a Boom.
rip, tag, get cover art… All you do is insert the CD!

I would also choose a Boom instead of a Radio for a garage. I actually have been using the Radio's alarm for the past 5 months, and it has always worked for me. The rest of it works fine, too. It just doesn't sound as good as a Boom, nor can you read the screen from across the room.

If you want something you can move around easily, it's hard to beat the Radio with the extra "accessory pack" for the battery.

I have a Radio to go with my three Booms and one Duet. I think my Radio is great.
I don't use the alarm and use a local SBS. It does crash occasionally, it happened twice last month, but when it does it just restarts without any input from me.Yes, it will. Yes, all of them. Yes, SoftSqueeze as well. What ?
I SAID ALL OF THEM !

Yeah, I saw the boom for $149.00 at Best Buy. But "In Store" only. And not available at any BB stores in Southern California. I found the Radio for $130.00 on the net. That is why I was considering picking one up. Seems like a good deal.
I'm not planning on turning my garage into a disco. Mostly use it to stream podcast out there. Maybe some tunes from my library. I agree the boom would be better, but only if I could get it on sale.

I have no complaints. I bought the unit about three weeks ago to be an alarm-clock in bedroom and it works just fine.
