Thread: Joggler Skin

  1. #11
So how have you got Squeezeplay running on the Joggler to use this skin please? There seems to be an android and Ubuntu method, but I'd be interested to know what method and instructions you used to ensure I get it working. I just ordered a Joggler purely for Squeezeplay.

    Thanks

    Dave

its running from ubuntu at the moment, but 3guk has talked about developing an image that runs squeezeplay straight from boot.

use either the basic Ubuntu or Ubuntu NBE images from the www.joggler.info forum (http://www.joggler.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=441)
then add squeezebox and the skin from here: http://wiki.github.com/3guk/Joggler-...how-to-install
add a desktop shortcut if needed: http://wiki.github.com/3guk/Joggler-...sktop-shortcut
finally send some beer money to 3guk

I'm running ubuntu NBE with squeezplay and performance is fantastic.

Ordered one for delivery on monday, can,t wait to tinker. Hoping this will work for me in the kitchen as a squeezeplayer. An image that booted straight into squeezeplay would be superb

I ordered one on Friday, not sure when I'll get it, but I'm looking forward to playing around with it.

I guess I've got quite a bit of reading to do as well.

    works on debian

I got squeezeplay (svn) working 99% on debian squeeze, using xorg.

The skin works pretty well but somehow I can't get out of the imageviewer app (or the 'power off' mode)-- I have to login via VNC and 'click' to get out, which is mildly annoying :-)

Any idea how to get that working ? Oh and any tips on installing wallpapers for the correct size ?

There isn't a keyboard on the joggler, the only possible user action are: click, click&hold, and click&drag :-)

My problem disappeared after a reboot somehow, I must have confused X11 somehow. Now /all is well/

Now I want to dig into squeezeplay a bit to find the place where it controls the backlight to adapt it to the joggler, it is really THE killer app ! It plays in sync with my "old" squeezebox in the lounge :-)

I received mine the other day, but haven't had any time to do anything more than take it out of the box to admire it. It really is a lovely 7" screen.

A 7" Touch would be a great product.

I finally got around to installing the skin using

    wget http://github.com/3guk/Joggler-Squee...tarball/master
sudo tar -C /opt/squeezeplay/share/jive/applets/WQVGAsmallSkin -xvf NAMEOFDOWNLOADEDFILEHERE

It seemed to extract okay but I can't see any difference? I was expecting the no playing page to fill the screen better. What should I be seeing different?
    Boom - Controller - Touch - Radio
