The last 2 firmware updates were horrible

Got this radio last Black Friday. I haven't seen a product with buggier software.

However, I managed to get the machine to work fairly reliably with the original firmware. After 2 recent firmware updates, the thing got really screwed up.

1. Sleep function doesn't work right (even after multiple factory reset and reinstallation of the firmware): radio just abruptly turns itself off after 5 minutes or so instead of fading out at set time (15', 30', etc.).

2. If you set its alarm, it doesn't use your selected wakeup sound at your selected volume, but an annoying loud synthetic music.

There is no problem with my internet connection or router.

Not necessarily - there are 7.5.1 updates as well if the OP is running SBS 7.5.1.

Logitech does not test the software at all. First year community college computer programmers write the code over a long weekend and then it is offered to the public. Logitech does no in house testing.It relies on customers with no programming background to test the software.

It is this excellent programming practice that has made them the tech giant they are.

Cute retort..I've noticed on this forum that some senor members are condescending to the junior members. I also see some of you "seniors" have been around for four or five years. I would like to see some of your first posts. Can't wait until I become a senor member so I just blindly love the product. Maybe Logitech should rename the Squeezebox radio to Geekbox radio.I don't like sniping forums, but your reply to a new member just PMO
