Hi all,
Have been using a Classic and Boom for 2 years+ and never had problems before - now could do with some help.
Both players now either won't play or start to play for a few seconds and then stop, reporting either that they can't connect to the network or "Connection Reset by Remote Host". In all cases, this is playing music files from the server PC.
This has been happening for a few days when Squeezebox Server upgraded automatically to 7.5.0. I have since manually installed 7.5.1-r30535 but the problem remains.
The server is running Vista Home Premium SP2 with McAfee Security.
Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Yeah i had the same issue last nite, my transporter kept 'buffering' all the time after upgraded to 7.5x.
My configuration is win7 (eg, 192.168.0.100), both PC and transporter (192.168.0.101) are using wire, same network switch.
I've checked everything, after forebacked to 7.4, the buffering issue still there.
Then restart, reconfig the transporter and PC more then 10 times still no cue. Then try to config the transporter as 'wireless', however the transporter response always damn slow, duno why, and i gave up.
UNTIL I exchanged the PC RJ45 cable (CAT 6, running at 1G BPS) with the transporter's (CAT 5, only able to run 100M BPS), then the problem gone.
I'm not sure is it the problem (like the sq server running at 1G, the transporter running at 100M will cause far network speed differency to make the buffering count incorrect.), we can try trend to this direction....

Rollback to 7.4.2 hasn't solved it
I tried uninstalling 7.5.x and rolling back to 7.4.2 (which was perfectly stable before) but that hasn't solved the problem. Unless I need to do a deep uninstall....
Any ideas? I'm missing my music!

Looked at your server log?
Sounds like the server keeps crashing. On Windows, the Usual Suspect is antivirus software that insists on 'checking' any file when it's opened, which tends to break MySQL when it can't open files because some AV software is locking it.

Server log and Antivirus
Hi,
Checked the server log and can't make out the issue myself. Attached is an excerpt from when I started the server this morning (I can upload the whole thing but wanted to keep it short). Can anyone see what the root cause is?
Also tried running with the anti-virus and firewall turned off temporarily. Still no joy.
Thanks...

Tried something different - same problem with 7.5
I just tried a clean install of 7.5 on an old-ish laptop that had never had SB Server before, running under a different OS (XP) and firewall (Windows firewall). Then linked one of the SBs to it...
...and, the same problem! But a short and crisp log that might be easier to detangle.
Ideas welcome.
