    Hello,

Wonderful! Please, can you explain how to install this great VU screensaver? I'm running Squeezecenter 7.5 on a ReadyNAS Pro.

I'm still learning the ins and outs of how to do this on my own. I could easily make another graphic file, zip it up like yesterday and share it with erland, if he's willing...while I'm learning to do it all by myself.

It's not difficult for me to make the file. It's just time consuming. The image file in the zip file is actually 25 different variations on the image. Once it's to the point where the design is done, it's just busywork.

That one is almost locked down...still a couple of minor tweaks...

Why would you need Squeezplay to run at 4:3?

I'm hoping to be able to do this to Squeezeplay as well as Touch but I can't seem to get the Patch Installer going on Squeezeplay.

Thanks. I'm going to go ahead and finish up the big png file in the meantime. This will get out there one way or another.

It might work in SqueezePlay on OSX or Linux, but it won't work on Windows.

However, if you like to test the image on SqueezePlay you should be able to just replace the file directly in Explorer (the file manager). Should be in a directory similar to:
    C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\SqueezePlay\lua\applets\WQVGAsmal lSkin\images\UNOFFICIAL\VUMeter

If you like to try if a patch work I'm afraid you will have to use a real Squeezebox device or possibly SqueezePlay on Linux or OSX.

Unfortunately, the first part of the directory structure is a bit different on Windows so you won't even be able to just unzip zip file there, you will need to copy the png file manually.

IMHO opinion, you don't need it in your case since you only replace a image, so I'd suggest that you just skip it. The purpose is just to make 100% sure that the person that has done the zip file is the same person that hosts the repository xml file if the repository file and zip file is stored on different servers.

If you still want to use it, you will need to:
    1. Create your zip file as usual
    2. Open a command prompt
    3. Run the command: sha1sum.exe YourZipFile.zip

Point 3 should output a checksum in the command prompt window, which you should copy into the repository xml file.
