Yes it is not working (at least in the latest 7.6 build, haven't had to time to test 7.5.1 yet).

Im using 7.5.1, I think thats the one that Andy fixed. Unless one fix goes to both.

I am pretty sure this was never broken, the problem was the faad binary was broken for PPC, not the scanner.

So, should I open up a bug report in regards to the 7.5.1/Ubuntu ? or is this thread entry and the existing bug report suffice?

Gotcha. Though it is reading my Alac files and seeing them as mpeg-4 & not alc like it should. That part is incorrect? Is there a bug for that issue?

Andy - I'm pretty sure something is not fully correct with either the inline or standalone scanner (or something else!) with regard to identifying ALAC vs AAC vs MPEG-4 files...
I don't think this has/had anything to do with the faad issue...

    Is this even remotely possible?
Several people have seen this option to play ALAC (.m4a) files as MPEG-4/AAC and then been able to get round the problem by disabling MPEG-4/AAC in File Types...
You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...

Hey i realize this not the right thread, but i until this bug is addressed i think i will downgrade. Could someone point to a URL where i can get non current load's? From the entries in this thread it looks like SS 7.4.2 decodes ALAC file correctly.

    Cheers, and thanks!

I'm running Version: 7.5.1 - r30663 on a Mac MINI with 90% of my library being Apple Lossless. I'm not having any problems playing anything that I randomly select.

I'm sure someone has asked, but have you CLEARED AND RESCANNED the library? I remember having issues like this many versions ago (late 6.x or early 7.x) and this always solved the problem.
