I am using Win XPSP3 32 bit OS
Was working OK with ver 7.4.2
Auto updated to 7.5 -
seemed to install without problems.
would not run
would not uninstall, just hung after one progress bar
had to delete its directories and registry manually.
Had copy of 7.4.2 setup - installed and now working OK.

How long did you wait ? One other user reported the progress bar freezing for more than 10 minutes before continuing and completing.
Yes, it will. Yes, all of them. Yes, SoftSqueeze as well. What ?
I SAID ALL OF THEM !

I can vouch for that, the uninstall halted for quite a while (on Vista). Probably not 10 minutes but still long enough that I was about to try and abort it when it finally got going.

uninstall frozen
It was stuck on one progress bar for about 90 minutes when I
gave up and manually removed it.
In the future I will wait a month before upgrading any sqbox software.

It's clear that the 7.5 version has problems. I am running Snow leopard in a iMac with iTunes 9.0
Couple of days ago I got the automatic note about the upgrade to 7.5.0. Th eupgrade installed fine but I didn't use my squezzbox until yesterday. When I tried it it was giving ane error "Can't open file" and the address of the song. After chcking several songs and play lists I came to the conclusion that just the songs in my first playlist worked fine any other songs in the other playlist were giving me the same error.
I called support and they could not figure it out. I removed the software and start from scratch downloading the 7.5.0 but I had the saem results. Support couldn't help me other than they told me they had reports of other problems.
I decided to removed 7.5.0 and reload 7.4.2 from Time Machine. Problems solved!! Everthing is back to normal now. it is clear 7.5.0 needs a lot of work.

Not to discount the problems you are encountering, but I'm running 7.5 and it installed with no problems and is running my Transporter, 2 booms, and 1 duet with no issues whatsoever. So it is not clear that 7.5 is the issue. The interaction of 7.5 with your operating system and network may be the issue, but NOT simply 7.5 is a problem.

I have had the same problems and it is definitively a 7.5 / 7.6 problem (at least on MacOS X 10.6.3). In some ways or other it seems to be less tolerant when it comes to handling meta data fields etc.

Is there any way to disable the 'Click on icon to upgrade server' popup ?
