Have downloaded & installed 7.5 (Windows XP, iTunes), deleted cache, rescanned. All songs were imported successfully, but when I select a playlist, genre, etc., the song list in SB is limited to 500 songs in each instance (for example, in a playlist with 2,250 songs, SB pulls up only 500). Any ideas? Tx

500 Song Limit in 7.5?
-

Its in Settings now
This was changed a while back to a default of 500. I like you have large playlists. Goto Setting> Advanced> Performance and set the Max Playlist Length to what you want it to be.
Use a blank space for unlimited. But be aware that if the playlists get to large they might start to affect the speed of the WebUI.Last edited by iPhone; 2010-04-19 at 07:47.

Thanks for the direction
Installed 7.5 a couple of days ago, and finally got around to rescanning, but it didn't make sense that my playlists were being limited to 500 entries. Never even knew there was a limit setting.
Thanks.

I don't think that saved playlists are limited to 500 items, just that no more than 500 items will be added to the current playlist at a time. I think the limit was put in place as a performance consideration for the people who inevitably try to add every track in their library to the playlist and then don't understand why the server appears to freeze for 10 minutes.

Glad to help.
I have both a huge 70's and 80's playlist. And since one can activate the start playlist from last song played option, I built them even bigger for parties and general era listening. The better half was getting upset about hearing the same songs play again before the 'begin playlist from last song played' option so that really helped, then she wanted songs added so it would be a month before hearing the same song again. Of course if its set to 500 songs, there is also the issue if one loads two 400 song playlist it chops the last 300 songs off.
When I first went to 7.5 Beta my playlists started acting funny, so I had the same surprise you guys did. It was just half a year ago.iPhone

That didn't seem to work
Well, tried the advanced/performance setting two different ways: setting maximum songs to 15,000 and, as the info icon popup states, set it at zero for no limit. Both ways come back with a maximum of 500 items in the list. Also, tried rebooting the computer, then upgrading the firmware on the SBs.
500 is the limit. It does not appear that it can be changed.

Not true!
Put in a blank, instead of a number, and you have unlimited number of songs in your playlists. Currently I am listening to a 1000+ playlist.

Exactly. I just put a space in and loaded a 755 song playlist in 5 times and have 3775 songs in the current playlist. I haven't seen any performance issues with large playlist but I am running Linux on a dedicated server.
He has to be doing something wrong or maybe using a skin that has an issue or bug if that is possible.iPhone

This functionality really is not very clear
OK. Using a number for Maximum Playlist Length doesn't work, and following the info popup and using a zero doesn't work. But, a blank space does. Of course, it is intuitively obvious!
I wonder if any other character might work the same way? Might have to play with this when I have more time.
But, thanks folks for the help. Very much appreciated.
