    Hi there,

Michael, I don't if you're still around and more especially if you still have some memory about how your great plugin works but anyway I'll take my chance

I have been using the Photo Gallery for quiet a while now as a random slideshow on my Squeezebox Radio, I've quiet a large collection of pictures and managed to create a custom favorite list by hacking the gallery.prefs file followed by a LMS restart.

I would like to be able to update the gallery.prefs file and trigger the update without restarting the whole LMS server, any hint that could point me in the right direction ? (I can do a bit of perl but my knowledge is more around bash & php).

Thanks again if you find some time to answer me.

I'm still around, yes. But my memory...

There are CLI commands to handle the favorites lists. That's what the
    web UI is using, too.

    gallery favorites file:/path/to/your/image.jpg

should return a list of favorites lists, with a isFavorite flag which
would indicate whether your picture is in that list or not. You could
then toggle that flag by sending

    gallery favorites favid:XXX file:/path/to/your/image.jpg

where XXX is the index of the favorites list within the list of
favorites as received by the first call.

At least that's what I read from the code... I haven't used that plugin
    for a while.

    How to remove a favorite

Hi - I have just installed a couple of O2 Jogglers as control points for my squeezeboxes and given the extra screen real estate have decided to finally use the photo functionality.
I created a folder on my WHS for correctly cropped images and the Picture Gallery sees them and all is fine for viewing slideshows in Gallery mode.
I wanted the ability to utilise some of the photos as a screensaver slideshow so designated a handful as favorites to test if it would work and sure enough it is all going fine.
    Nice work Michael thank you.

The problem I now have is how to remove a photo from the favorites list, as some of the ones I chose to test, I really don't want to keep as favorites.
I don't see any way of doing this as the only prompt I get when accessing the favorites either in the Web GUI or player is to add the favorite not to remove a favorite.

Hopefully there is something very simple that I am overlooking.

    Thanks
    Sam

Thanks - but the Favorite Pictures Folder doesn't appear in the Favorites section of the Home screen where the pencil edit is available. (Is there a way to add it in?)
It is under Extras>Picture Gallery>Favorite Pictures. Hopefully the sceengrabs below highlight this and that there is no edit/delete available. In the last screengrab the only available option is to tick the Favorite Pictures box which I did (a few times) resulting in multiple saves of the image to favorites.

    [Announce] Photo Gallery Plugin v1.0

TBH: my memory doesn't last that far back any more... but from the
screenshots I understand there's a checkbox in front of the favorites
item. You can check or uncheck that box to make a picture show up or not
    in that list.

Thanks for chiming in Michael - but what appears to be happening is once checked, the check mark doesn't stick, so there is nothing to uncheck to remove the photo from the favorites folder. The check boxes always appear as blank when subsequently summoned.

I guess I could create other Favorite folders and populate them very carefully. But it is a shame to not have the ability to edit them.

I've disabled it from the repository as it's been abused to spy on
    user's installations.

Would you feel comfortable extracting a .zip file to one of LMS'
folders? Then feel free to PM me, and I'll send you a copy.

Do you plan to enable it again in the future?
I used it in the past, but can't install it again.
