I am using SqueezeboxServer-7.5.0-30462 with WinXP and Transporter.
Getting frequent faad error messages which cause music to stop playing. Got this with other 7.5 nightlies
Music is stored as Apple lossless and I have used iTunes to copy music.
Any advice would be apprecaited

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...

Phil
Nothing seems to be reported in server.log.
It seems to be a WinXP error as it asks if I want to report the error
It has happened with various SBS versions, 7.4x, 7.5x, and 7.6x

Errors from the faad application will not be reported into server.log - the message will only appear if SBS is run from a command line in a console windows.
Where do you see these "faad" errors ?
Can you copy them exactly in context with other messages before and after. Copy into a text file, zip and attach to a post.

A window appears over the squeezebox web control page. It is a WInXP message stating something like " faad.exe has experienced an error and was forced to close, .... apologise etc. Would you like to send a report to MS...."
I have looked at the text report it sends to MS but cannot make any sense of it. It refers to a temp file in the users directory.
Hope this makes sense

It looks like something on your system is preventing faad.exe from running.
Can you can run faad.exe at a command prompt in a console window

Yes it seems to run normally and I get all the faad options. It also shows up as a running application in task manager.
The error message I get is "faad.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Below this is the usual WinXP box asking if I want to "send error report" or "Don't send"
Unfortunately I cannot find a way to attach a screenshot to my posts - is this possible on this forum?
