    Volume won't "Fix at 100%"

I have two SBR/SBC pairs, both set using the SB Server web interface as follows:
Player>Basic Settings>Audio for Output Level is Fixed at 100% > Apply

However, when I use the web interface player, the volume bar is not at 100% and if I increase it, the volume goes up - indicating the volume was never at 100%...

    What am I doing wrong?

Here's the data you'll ask me for...
    Thanks in advance.

Does the audible volume actually change? Normal behavior of "fixed at 100%" is that the output level of the Squeezebox does not change when you change the volume, but there's still a "fictional" volume level displayed in Squeezebox Server and on the Controller. This isn't entirely crazy -- it makes it possible to use the Controller, Web, or other control mechanism to control your amplifier volume with 3rd-party plugins like Felix's IR Blaster, Aesculus' Denon AVP Control, or my DenonSerial plugin. If your SB Receiver volume is fixed at 100%, I would expect the Web UI and Controller to show you a volume level you can change, but changing it would have no effect on the actual output level of the Squeezebox.

Well, you appear to be right! The graphical representation moves but the actual volume doesn't change.

Just out of curiosity - didn't it used to display at 100% when you fixed it? I feel I remember it being like that before? Doesn't matter.

    Thanks

Actually this is a feature we don't want 'fixed'. Some of us use external volume controls to adjust the volume through a plugin. Since the web interface allows volume adjustments to be sent out even though the volume is actually sent out at 100%, we can trap these via the plugin and change the actual volume on the amp etc. We have the best of both worlds.

If they fix the volume at 100% in the UI then we will have no way to adjust the volume via a plugin.

I want this behavior as well, but the volume slider bar control is disabled when Volume control setting for the SBR is set to fixed at 100%. Has anyone else observed this? Is there any way to patch the SBR to fix the volume at 100% like the one Erland did for the Touch?

What are you calling the "SBR"? Radio? Receiver?

On the Touch the 'fixed' volume behaves as you describe. It's kind of a half-finished implementation of the old behavior.

Sorry, to be clear it's the Receiver.
