After listning to mysquezebox.com I cant wake server via WOL??

Hi this is my first post, but I have been searching for help to solve this problem.

I have just bought a Duet, and it was simple to set up and to use. But then I found out that sometimes I couldn't start listening to music on my server, it didn't resume after standby.
It turned out that if had been listening to radio on Mysqueezebox.com and the served was in standby, when I pressed "music" nothing happened - the WOL packet did not wake the server. (also I could see that the IP address of the receiver was something like 80.??.??.?? whereas it should be like 192.168.1.14.

If I then manually start the server and stop my receiver, then I can listen to music afterwards. And I can let the server co into standby and the receiver is able to wake the server again.

I'm using the latest stable Server 7.4.2

Please help, as my server is located at the attic, it is very difficult to manually start the server when this problem occur.

    Steen

    Edit:
My setup: The receiver is connected to the server via ethernet cable, and the remote is connected via WIFI. The server is running on a windows home server.

    Hi sbp

I believe this is a known bug. What is supposed to happen is that when you select 'My Music' after using mysqueezebox.com, its supposed to send the WOL, but doesn't do this, (or more likely if it does it sends it to mysqueezebox.com) so you probably get a message saying something like "you need to install Squeezecentre etc".

I don't know when this will be fixed, BUT was there a particular reason you were using mysqueezebox.com? I've found it easier not to bother with it, I listen to the radio using the squeezecentre software, and to me it has a number of advantages (favourites etc) over the cut down mysqueezebox.com.

If you have a PC or MAC running downstairs there are a number of WOL programs that you can download for free, which you can use to send the WOL to your server - its a workaround of sorts.

If you have an Iphone or Itouch you can also use either a WOL program to wake up your server, or better still get the IPeng app, which IMHO always sends a WOL to my server each time it starts up.

My server is out of the way, so I know what a pain it is to start up manually.

Thank you, this probably is what I'm experiencing.

You mentioned: "BUT was there a particular reason you were using mysqueezebox.com? I've found it easier not to bother with it, I listen to the radio using the squeezecentre software,..."
I don't care from where I get the radio, but I can't figure out how to set the squeezeserver up so that it will be used instead of mysqueezebox.com.

Could you please show me what I need to change?

    Thanks

    Hi Steen

I guess you ran into bug: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14972 which has been fixed in 7.5.0 which should be out shortly.

    Thanks
So I only have two questions:

    1. Can I already now upgrade to 7.5.0 (I know it is still beta - but is it very unstable??), If it is only smaller glitches, I'm willing to try.

    2. How can I change the behavior of my current system, so it only connects to my local server and not to mysqueezebox.com?

    Thanks

    Hi sbp

You should be fine running 7.5 it seems stable to me though I haven't checked that it fixes the problem you are having - others are saying it does.

What has possibly happened is that your server has shutdown/suspended and then you have gone directly to the Internet Radio option instead of going to 'My Music' first.

If you want to stick with 7.4 I suggest you turn your Duet OFF when not using it, and that before you listen to the Internet Radio when your server has shutdown, go to 'My Music' first as this should send the WOL. Then wait till you know your server is up before going to Internet Radio (I don't know how long your server takes to start up).

When your server is up and running and you listen to Internet Radio stations, Squeezecentre SHOULD keep your server up and running, let us know if this is not the case.
