Did you check the new ESIA (Enhanced Sheevaplug Installer Application) installer? http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/in...p?topic=1400.0
Maybe you can make a 'software package' from your images and create an even easier way to install it on the Sheeva.
Setup: 1 Touch, 4 Booms and 1 Radio.
Server: LMS 7.7.3 (DebianVM in Proxmox), Subsonic

It's a nice thing to watch but still seems buggy judging from the post in the thread you posted.

The images provided on www.squeezeplug.de are the most easy way to have SBS running on a SheevaPlug at the moment. Normally you only need to flash your sdcard with the image, plug it in your Sheeva and start it. Configuration is guided then and takes one minute only!

    SqueezePlugVM updated

    Hi,
there was a little bug in the SqueezePlugVM Image I've fixed.

If you've allready downloaded an SqueezePlugVM Image read my blog to fix the bug! http://squeezeplug.de

And a very nice feature was added: You can now run SqueezeSlave on SqueezePlugVM to play the music directly from you server. I'll describe it the next days and put it in the wiki.

    Greetings Thomas

    Sheevaplugs and transcoding

Will the Sheevas handle transcoding both to different formats and/or different bitrates (e.g. from 88.2 to 44.1 for a high-res file playback on a SB2)?

    Thanks, -mark

Argh. Third time I am trying to post and each and every time I get logged out, then after logging in again it says it posted my reply and yet it didn't.

Anyway, had my Plug (standard) since December, but thanks to job change and coursework I didn't get to do much besides updating/fixing the preinstalled Ubuntu installation.

Yesterday I finally took the plunge and did the dreaded U-Boot update (I had the .16 version).

I run Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on my 3 year old HP notebook and the only trouble I had was that I had to manually select the drivers to establish the serial connection.

Then I had some more trouble getting the plug to load the newer U-Boot version from my USB stick. it would start loading, thn stop and display "device not ready". Afterwards it wouldn't even recognise the device anymore unless I did a reset.
Switching over to my other USB stick did the trick though and the update went without a hitch, plug booted back into the installed Ubuntu OK.

Now I just realised I did a blooper, because I didn't update to .25 but to .27 which I see has been causing trouble. Is that still the case?

I bought a 4 GB SDHC card for the plug only to realise that the card reader in the aforementioned notebook doesn't do SDHC yet... sigh. So before I continue I'll need a new card reader first so I can get the image onto the card in the first place.

To replace my slightly dodgy unbranded NAS made in China, which consumes far too much power for my taste, I just ordered a Western Digital Elements 1TB (WDBAAU0010HBK) because it has its own power supply so I don't fry my plug.

I believe these come pre-formatted with NTFS and I would prefer to keep that, does your image come with support for NTFS preinstalled? EDIT: I see it does, sorry!

Another EDIT: I just found this http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76526
If I remember correctly the plug cannot do any any transcoding so I guess
    "apt-get install ia32-libs" won't work?

Also since I can't seem to find this anywhere, you mention the standard plug-ins work, do any of the others work as well (Erland's plugins, for examle)?

Hoping to be able to organise a card reader today or tomorrow, then I can report back over the course of the weekend.
