Did you check the new ESIA (Enhanced Sheevaplug Installer Application) installer? http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/in...p?topic=1400.0
Maybe you can make a 'software package' from your images and create an even easier way to install it on the Sheeva.Setup: 1 Touch, 4 Booms and 1 Radio.
Server: LMS 7.7.3 (DebianVM in Proxmox), Subsonic

It's a nice thing to watch but still seems buggy judging from the post in the thread you posted.
The images provided on www.squeezeplug.de are the most easy way to have SBS running on a SheevaPlug at the moment. Normally you only need to flash your sdcard with the image, plug it in your Sheeva and start it. Configuration is guided then and takes one minute only!Last edited by GS_Schimpf; 2010-03-24 at 16:12.

SqueezePlugVM updated
Hi,
there was a little bug in the SqueezePlugVM Image I've fixed.
If you've allready downloaded an SqueezePlugVM Image read my blog to fix the bug! http://squeezeplug.de
And a very nice feature was added: You can now run SqueezeSlave on SqueezePlugVM to play the music directly from you server. I'll describe it the next days and put it in the wiki.
Greetings Thomas

Sheevaplugs and transcoding
Will the Sheevas handle transcoding both to different formats and/or different bitrates (e.g. from 88.2 to 44.1 for a high-res file playback on a SB2)?
Thanks, -mark

no transcoding. The CPU lacks a floating point unit.

I can only tell about formats I'm using on my machine. I have .m4a, .wma, .flac and obviously .mp3. All play very well from the Plug, even if you are feeding 2 boxes with different formats at the same time.
You have to keep in mind that due to linux, faad and flac are used to transcode m4a and flac files to be played from the Plug and both work fine.
If you have different stuff to transcode we can perhaps arrange a test for you to be sure?Last edited by GS_Schimpf; 2010-03-24 at 16:11.

I really like the look of these plugs and am keen to get stuck in and have a play. I've already got my music files (and squeezecenter) running on a NAS, I don't want to buy a USB drive to attach to the plug, this would mean two copies of my music (about 60K tracks/370GB) so will the SheevaPlug be able to access the music files from the NAS directly - perhaps over a SAMBA share?
Any help appreciated,

Matt:
sure it will! You have preconfigured access possibilities for Samba or NFS. My Music Library is stored on a NAS as well. I connect it via NFS, Samba also works great! The Combination of SqueezePlug and a NAS works great!
If you like to see how it works, try SqueezePlugVM a virtual machine setup und working exactly like the SqueezePlug (SheevaPlug) see my blog: http://squeezeplug.de
