    Help required with bathroom set-up!

Hi everyone, first post here and I need some advice/help...

Just about to have the bathroom done and want to extend my Squeezebox 'network' into it. I am planning on putting some Opus OS165CCv2 speakers in the ceiling, putting a Squeezebox Duet in the loft space connected to a Cambridge Audio A1 v3 from Richer Sounds (recommeded by someone as a decent budget amp). My question(s) are this:

    1) Will this set up work? Personally I can't see why not...
    2) How will I control the volume, will the Duet Controller be able to do that as don't want to be up and down to the loft all the time and obviously the amp remote won't 'see' through the ceiling?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

you can control the volume of the SB-receiver with the SB-controler. Both will connect to your wifi-router.

Do you want to run the amplifier full time? Never power it off?

I guess I'll have to, not sure how I would turn it on and off - is that dangerous? Obviously the loft space is a cool environment...

if the amplifier can stand it. Some consumer electronics arent't designed for 24h/7. Beside this it consumes power.

I did something similar, though with lower end components all around. Connected a SB receiver to a Niles SI-275 amp that has auto-sending on/off to ceiling speaks in bathroom and office. Super simple, no maintenance. It works terrifically and the sound is as great as I'd want in bathroom and office (4 channels out). I'd recommend findings an amp with auto-sensing on/off if it fits with your audio expectations...

I use in-wall volume controls to control volume on my duet squeezebox network and generally leave the volume level at 100 on the squeezebox controller (particularly since I have 2 sets of speakers running off the same receiver). It is an elegant way to control speakers in a home and will provide the next occupant with control over the speakers if they hook something other than a duet up to it. Something like this:
