Server IP Address: 127.0.0.1

Hi all,
Just wondering if ayone can help me,
I've set up Squeezebox server on a Freenas system, I can access my music libary via my SB radio and I can access the web ui control(via 192.168.x.x:9000) but I cant save my password in the mysqueezebox.com tab or access any internet radio stations.
I set up SB server on my main pc to see if it was different and it worked fine, the only difference I could see was -
Freenas-
Squeezebox Server Status

Server IP Address: 127.x.x.1
Server HTTP Port Number: 9000

Main pc-

Server HTTP Port Number: 9000

Is it possible to change the server IP on the nas system to the same address that I use to access the Web ui i.e 192.168.x.xxx

FreeNAS doesn't correctly configure gateway and/or DNS in the network settings. Make sure they match whathever you're using on other machines in the network.

Might be worth a request with the FreeNAS devs.

No, that's not what you want :-). You can't change that address. It's always meant to point to "localhost", the machine you're sitting at itself.

You said that players were connecting fine, but radio wasn't. That's typically due to SBS not being able to access the internet. Check server.log and you'll see messages about it failing to reach mysqueezebox.com or squeezenetwork.com. Then go and fix the DNS setting as I said. It's a known issue with FreeNAS.

As Babel says: 127.0.0.1 is not your server's address. This is a "talk to this machine" address that is common to all current networking. If winders, open a command prompt and use the command

ipconfig /all

The IP address shown (and there can be a number of "interfaces") is the IP of your SBS.

Please explain why you want to change the address.

Oh.

The FreeNAS has a control page that you can get to from another PC on your home network.

Normally, you will need the FreeNAS IP address.

This will allow you to change the network settings, including whether the FreeNAS PC gets it's address automagically (DHCP) or otherwise.
