    Newbie Question: RSS Feed plugin

    Hey all

I've only just joined the list - can't find an archives to search anywhere
so I thought I'd put in a mail.

Has anyone worked on a plugin to read headlines from RSS feeds? I imagine
being able to setup a list of URLs in a file, and have the plugin go to each
of those to retrieve recent headlines.. We could then use the Squeezebox to
display news, blogs, or whatever syndicated content you like.

    Anyone? Ideas?

    Cheers,
    Marcus

It's called RSS Cruzer, and I'm actually finding some time to work on it
again. You can play with the first version at
    http://www.rant-central.com/slimstuff/RSSCruzer.pm

Aside: I filed a bug report on XML::RSS::Parser::Lite to see if I can
get the RSS 1.0 patch merged. In the meantime, does someone have any
pull at CPAN? Or if I bump the version on the parser and put the higher
version in the use statement, will perl grab the one from Slim/CPAN?

external modules can also be placed in the Plugins directory using the same tree
style structure as CPAN. This should override any other system modules. At
    least, that's the desired effect.
