I have heard people talking in my (EMPTY/UNOCCUPIED BY HUMANS) home office. The conversation only lasts a few seconds and is distorted but quite loud. Is there any chance that the Boom is picking up signals from outer/inner space? It is the only device in the office that could possibly produce any amplified sounds. Not even any speakers on the computer...
I have unplugged the Boom for a few days and nobody has been talking in the office. I can't remember if the router was on or off during the ?events?.
Anybody else experienced this? Or have I gone over to the dark side...
Thanks
Jim

Are there any RF transmitters in the office or area? Any neighbors that are Amateur Radio Operators?
I believe the Boom is on when plugged in during Standby and the amplifier is ready to amplify. If this is the case, then a transmitter with a strong enough signal strength could be picked up and amplified over the Booms Speakers.
6M SSB would not need much power to come over a plugged in Boom.iPhone

Actually, I used to get a local FM station on my stereo (ghost like volume) without a FM tuner connected.

I did as well, back when I had separate tuner, pre and amp.
There is a huge tower for the country music station just out of my back
yard.
One of the reasons I love my SqueezeBoxen

For serious listening, a Transporter feeding a Classe amp to Sonus Faber
speakers with a Rel sub.
For other listening, a Boom, or a Touch with computer speakers, or a
Duet with AR Power Partner powered speakers, or my Radio.
There is an AV amp in the basement for watching DVDs with surround sound.

I used to have an office facing a street that was a well traveled truck route. It was fairly common to pick up short bursts of CB radio traffic on my office stereo system.
