How to connect receiver to squeezebox network

Please take as read the necessary apologies if this is elsewhere in the forums, I HAVE searched, or if it is obvious, I can't find it.

I cannot find where to go on my controller to log my duet into mysqueezebox.com. Information I have found says that this is "usually" done during set up. It wasn't and after it had run an update today (as I had updated the server software on ReadyNAS) so the controller updated to: 7.4.1 r7915 it gave me one chance to do this and I can't get back to that point again.

The problem was that having entered my email address it would not move onto the next steps. It just stayed on the entry screen, whatever I did. I hit the home button thinking I'd be able to go back later but can't. On the most hopeful looking option "switch to mysqueezebox.com" nothing happens. Just that sort of shake on the screen and a dead tone.

PC is running Windows 7
ReadyNas is uptodate firmware
Controller as above.

Make sure you can Select the player:

settings/home menu/ scroll and make sure "Select Player" is enabled. Also make sure "Switch to Mysqueezebox.com" is enabled.

Back to main menu and select the player. Then "Switch to Mysqueezebox.com"

If you have players sync'ed, you will get and "can't connect" message, but in fact ALL the sync'ed players will be connected to Mysqueezebox.com.. This can be verified in the web UI or by going to www.mysqueezebox.com and signing-in..

To go back local: Switch library to your music server...

But.....
I have two problems here! :-) First is that when I go to Settings/Home menu "Select Player" is not one of the options available to select to appear on the Home Menu. A minor issue given the other problem!

Second problem is that although I have (in the same menu) selected "Switch to MySqueezebox.com" and it has appeared at the bottom of the home menu, when I scroll to it and click the select key still nothing happens. As mentioned before when I was navigating to the same option in the Networking menu, the screen shifts a very small amount side to side and goes nowhere.

Actually I have a third problem which is that all the sound effects from the handset have stopped working so this doesn't even give the "nothing to see here" tone that I was getting the other day.

In the Diagnostics it says mysqueezebox.com registration - not registered. I am registered, I just can't get the handset to connect!

did you buy the squeezebox new or used?
if it is used then the mac address of the squezzebox might have been linkesd to the first owners registration.

It was brand new and sealed in the box.

Try going to the web site www.mysqueezebox.com with your browser and be sure you can log in. You may have to create a new password.

1) try reinitialising your controller's settings.

turn it off using the HOME

turn it ON with the HOME Key and force a re-init by simultaneopusly holding down the "+" key until u see the logitech symbol

2) it might help to reset your receiver(s) at the same time by holding down the centre key for 6+ seconds.

This should cause the setup sequence to rerun

3) if above does not work you could try running an update of the "clean" software via your readnas frontview interface
as "run the clean_db script http://www.readynas.com/download/addons ... DB_1.0.bin ( reboot )
go to the Frontview => streaming services menu remove the squeezebox server ( reboot ) etc"

I was on the point of giving up on the duet ever managing to connect to mysqueezebox.com, especially when I bought a Radio which had no problem at all and connected first time.

Today though, my duet decided that it should download 7.4.3 so I thought I'd give it another prod, and after another factory reset and some random fiddling around with the squeezebox server and pressing Next suddenly it was able to connect and access the apps and is working.

Thanks for your suggestions folks, I have no idea if it was anything I did right, or the random button pushing that finally did the trick!
