    Scanner logging - Error still shows notifications

    Hi,

    A question on the scanner in v7.5.0, r29577. The logging still shows a line for each scanned songs (creating a huge logfile with 24k files to be scanned), even when the logging-setting is Error....

    Example of these lines:
    0010: [09-12-11 13:28:27.1761] Slim::Utils::Scanner::scanDirectory (333) Scanning: /volume1/Qmultimedia/Music/10CC/Boogie Nights/03.012 10cc - The Smurf.mp3

    Nothing wrong with (besides the lousy title of the song), right ?

    Right. It's just telling you that it's going to scan that file. If the scanner were to crash (often without being about to log anything else) then you'll know which file caused the crash.

    Sure, but wouldnt it be better to only show this type of logging when you set it to Warn, Info or even Debug ? Now I get huge log-files without having any 'real' problems... if it would crash, I would re-scan with higher Log-level....

    chances are if you want a change like that they are going to tell you you're welcome to provide the patch. considering whats on their plate it just isn't pressing, altho i'm for anything that can lighten the workload.
