Are there any companies/people out there who would put SB3 into a case?

I'm a complete novice when it comes to this so please don't think I'm daft.

I have a SB3, I would love it to fit with my other HiFi equip in a 19" case. Is this possible? I wouldn't want to undertake it myself, but are there any UK based organisations/people who do this kind of thing for you?

    Thanks

I know that these people buy squeezeboxes then rehouse them to make an SB+ http://www.at-view.co.uk/sb2.htm They do however make numerous upgrades at the same time so an SB+ will probably cost considerably more than your thinking.

I don't think it would be particularly difficult. Find an enclosure you like then get the front panel from Frontpanelexpress:

I'm currently doing this for my music server with a HiFi2000 Pesante enclosure I acquired. Front panel will be a simple 4mm black anodized aluminum with an on/off button and LED, but I also had a design with an LCD and slim DVD that I didn't move forward with.

Yeah, but my DIY skills don't extend past putting up a picture frame and my electrical skills stretch to changing a lightbulb!

lol! - I am no expert.

Right now the motherboard etc are stuck into the case with double sided tape. I am dreading having to drill the bottom panel for the motherboard standoffs. I will have to drill and cut the backpanel as well, once the design if finalized. Good excuse to get a drill press

Unfortunately, you have to be familiar with screws and things to use the software. This I know. I just hate power tools.

Before you cut into your SB3, the mount your linking to is an original SB. There will be more than a few changes if you want take this on yourself.

Since you've admitted to not having a huge amount of experience with this sort of thing, how about buying an SB1 or SB2 on eBay cheap and giving it a go on that one?
I like it, you may not. I understand and respect that.

Helpful & profound. Who'da-thunk; search the internet. You care to name those specialty places?

The OP is on the Forum so they have Internet. Why should I search for the OP when the OP has the ability? I remember seeing some but don't remember their names or have the URLs saved. So if I would have to search for them, the OP might as well do it instead of me.

Although the Transporter is the easiest solution if one isn't handy with tools. Expensive, but easiest.
