I'm trying to clean up some of my genres (for example, I've got Christmas, Christmas/Holiday, and Holiday I'd like to combine into one). I've also got a couple of albums missing track information I'd like to type in.
I thought this would be a simple matter of editing it within Squeeze Server, but I guess it's not. I've tried using MP3Tag, The Godfather, Foobar2000, and a couple other programs, and none make it so simple as to edit the Album information (the genre change I'm getting at) and also individual track information. In most it seems impossible to get at the individual tracks.
First, is there a plugin or something that will let me do this within Squeeze Server?
If not, is there a tag editor with a not huge learning curve where I can edit the information in all of my cue sheets without a huge hassle?
Thanks,
Matthew

I am trying out Moose as an alternative front end at the moment. It can launch the currently playing album in a tagger of your choice (for example Mp3tag) or open the containing folder in an Explorer window.
Squeezebox Server itself will never write to the files, and does not let you access the originals through the web interface.

I'll give it a go. I've just resorted to going into the .cue file and editing it manually. Thanks for the rec.

Should be trivial task with mp3tag. Load up all files then filter by genre. Select all files in window then edit the genre tag to whatever you want. Then hit save. I've done this on 20,000 files at once with only few mouse clicks. However I'm not using cue sheets so maybe that's the issue.

Sooner or later you will want to clean up your tags, may as well bite the bullet and do it now.
If, by chance, your current music files are in a standard folder format like Artist > Album > Track then MP3Tag can easily be set to extract that folder structure text and write the correct tags for your entire music collection, all at once.
Cue to tag I dunno, never tried it.
