I'm using SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 on XP with iTunes. I have my rescan set to run once/day at night. In the mornings when i try to play a playlist, SC often tells me the playlist is empty (but clearly it is not empty in iTunes). If i manually force a rescan, everything is ok. the odd thing is that the problem doesn't happen all the time, and i can't find any pattern to why it happens when it does.
i've searched the forums for related issues and can't find much. i did find something awhile ago about Macafee, and i changed my registry settings as instructed, which fixed another problem but this problem still occurs sporadically.
Any ideas?

no one has answered this, but perhaps this may give someone enough info to answer.
the info from my scan log file for my last scan says (and this occurs for all of my scans). It seems that i commonly have this error:
Can't create/write to file 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SqueezeCenter\Cache\MySQL\#sql_928_0.MYD'
Here's the log file:

i'll add more to this thread (although i'm the only one on it): what baffles me is that sometime the playlists are empty and sometimes they aren't. My scan runs every morning at 5 am -- sometimes the playlists are properly populated, but other times they are empty. Usually if i do a manual rescan of playlists, they populate properly.
why sometimes and not others? Huh?

thanks. I'm using MSE on Win7 64bit.
i just set it to ignore files of type .MYD and .MYI files (should i be ignoring any processes, too?)
let's see if that helps.

No it won't help use the search function
hence my jibe at MSE.
MSE bug's are well covered in other treads, it has been discussed at length in this forum for at least 3-4 months.
MSE has a bug where it will not honor these settings.
You have to turn of real-time protection, but that lowers the security level quite a bit (and may not work anyway)
So you may as well look at other alternatives for antivirus.
Again search this forum re experiences with other antivirus software.
There is useful workarounds for many of them on this site.
What is happening is that almost all antivirus software thinks that MySQL is a virus, almost every "scanner does not..." tread for the last 2 years is about this.--------------------------------------------------------------------
