When I select a 96khz flac FreeNAS fails with this:

Resulting in the Classic reports "can't read file......"

Knowing that my Classic can't play this 96k, Windows version resamples the file, and the Classic plays it ok.
I have tried on 7.5, and 7.4.2 and it's the same on FreeNAS.

Could you please enable debugging for player.source and post again? Can you run sox from the command line when logged in to your FreeNAS box?

SOX is running ok at command line.
freenas:~# sox

Failed: Not enough input filenames specified
Logfile attached.
I noticed:

Ok, can confirm the issue. The sox binary I'm including in SlimNAS doesn't support any audio file format needed in this process. I was wondering... its file size is only 44kB while the one for Linux is >3MB :-/. I'll try to compile a complete binary. Stay tuned...

FreeNAS won't play 96khz
avr300 - thanks for the link with the test files. I was able to reproduce the failure. There's a 2.0.1 build you can download from http://www.herger.net/SlimNAS which should fix this issue. Please give it a try. Thanks!
