    Version 0.6 of AlienBBC released

Ok. That's odd. I've never seen buffer loading work (Peter sent me a patch, but it didn't make any difference for me. I always assumed it was busted somehow

    Hi guys

Jules -- *always* good to see another AlienBBC release!

Here's my report on a brief test last night:

    1. buffering 'works' of a kind. Previously on my setup it always stayed as 'Connecting...'. Now I
get that, but then buffering, although always the same values. I meant to take a note, but it was
something like 18%, 36%, 44% and then it sits at 98% for the rest of the stream.
    2. before I was able to press the power button, which would stop the stream and let me browse again.
When I tried that last night, my SliMP3 seemed to turn on and off repeatedly for five or six
times, before deciding it would stay on. When I tried a left-arrow, my slimserver crashed.

From a SliMP3 perspective, v0.5 seemed to be more stable. Perhaps these are some SliMP3 vs
Squeezebox issues coming to the fore. Tonight when I get home I'll move to the latest nightly (I'm
about a week behind just now) and also update the firmware from v23.

Not sure if you're taking feature requests yet Jules, but it would be really cool to see when a show
was recorded/aired, especially for weekly shows.

Thanks again for the great work,
    Martin

Bah. Ok. That's a shame. Sounds like we're going backwards.

There were changes to the Power Button handling as part of the AlienStream
re-sync - but they looked benign to me... If you get a minute - can you tell
me if it misbehaves for you when you use SoftSqueeze? That'd take slimp3 out
    of the equation briefly.

As far as extracting more metadata is concerned - yes... that would be
excellent. However... there really isn't any more metadata available from
where I'm extracting the source, as far as I'm aware.

Craig is working on a fork which can parse the rather more detailed 'listen
again' pages for one of the stations (BBC7), and that might provide a
template for doing this better for some shows (BBC7 provides a complete
archive of the last 7 days broadcasts, with descriptions). We'll try to
merge the forks when it's stabilised a little.
