SSODS 4 released

I have recently upgraded my ARM-based Dreamplug to Debian Wheezy, and now I get this error when starting SSODS: /opt/ssods4/bin/bash: error while loading shared libraries: unexpected PLT reloc type 0x90

I have installed the latest mod of the eabi version 4.14mod and it has been running successfully for months.

uname -a shows this: Linux dreamplug 3.0.4 #1 PREEMPT Tue Aug 30 19:56:02 MDT 2011 armv5tel GNU/Linux

Any good advice?

Because of eldk the binaries should be independent to your OS version. Have you tried just to extract 4.14mod again overwriting any existing file? Your LMS installation should not be affected.

I just finished installing your SSODS (ssods-4.14mod-arm.tar.gz) and LMS 7.8 (logitechmediaserver-7.8.0-1343433580-arm-linux.tgz) on a Qnap TS119PII running TurboStation. It works like a charm !
I had initially replaced Qnap firmware by Debian squeeze but the lack of support for the poweroff button and USB 3 ports decided me to get back to TurboStation. The latter is a bit ugly compared to Debian, but everything is working as far I am concerned (I am using the NAS as a standalone music server connected to a Squeezebox Touch). The only weak point I see in Qnap firmware is that very few Wifi dongles are supported (I need the wireless link for updating my music collection).

following some moves in my house, I just re-activate SSODS on my Synology DS508. it seems that the latest version of SSODS is the 4.9.1 (PPC Freescale MPC8543 based devices ) and it is not anymore supported. Can you confirm me the latest version and support ?

yes flipflip stopped updating SSODS. Currently i only have ARM based devices but i will buy a DS413 soon, which has a freescale PPC cpu. Right after that i will release a updated SSODSmod for PPC devices.

But maybe someone else will be faster, because some other things on my list currently have a higher priority.

new question : I'm able to access to SSOD v4.9.1 with "IP:9090", I know the service is running on "SqueezeboxServer 7.5.1-30836" but I'm not able to access to the SqueezeBox Server web interface by "IP:9000".

Do you have any clue to make it work ?

I'm keen to replace Squeezebox Server with a newish version of Logitech Media Server but have very limited knowledge of Linux. I managed to get ssods installed on the Linkstation this way:

Log into the Linkstation via the GUI, create a new user called ssod, password ssod. Create a new group called ssod & add the new member ssod to the group.
Download https://rapidshare.com/files/4246036...-oldarm.tar.gz and save it in /mnt/disk1/share

Connect to the Linkstation as root via SSH or telnet & enter the following code:

mkdir -p /mnt/disk1/spool/SSODS4
mkdir -p /opt
ln -s /mnt/disk1/spool/SSODS4 /opt/ssods4

cd /opt/ssods4
tar -xzvpf /mnt/disk1/share/ssods-4.9.1mod2-oldarm.tar.gz

LC_ALL= /opt/ssods4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods start

mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/rc.d/
ln -s /opt/ssods4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ssods.sh

Open web browser and go to: http://ip_address_of_machine_ssods_is_installed_on:9099

The problem is that logitechmediaserver-7.7.2.tgz refuses to copy over to the Linkstation. If I try to upload it via the ssods GUI the connection gets closed. If I try to copy it manually to the /tmp directory on the Linkstation with WinSCP it crashes at 12%. The /tmp directory appears to be mapped to /mnt/ram. Does anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps you have the space issue in /tmp discussed below?

I tried on Buffalo LS-WVL but it did not work, it stucks at the step "Upload SqueezeboxServer and Choose Tar Ball" due to no space left on the device. My WVL is brand new and there's no thing in it, I checked the partitions it used and see that /tmp is stored on /dev/ram1 which is has only 15MB.

Is there anyway that I could use different folder instead of the /tmp one

You can download the file anywhere, and just create a symbolic link in /tmp

e.g. download to /filesystem/file.tgz
cd /tmp
ln -s /filesystem/file.tgz file.tgz

Thanks for the very helpful advice, I had a feeling that it was a space issue but didn't know about symlinking.
