    Lightbulb EEE Top

Anybody else using the EeeTop as server/player?

I Just bought an EeeTop (with a 15" touch screen), installed SS7.4 and the latest SqueezePlay beta, after a day of hacking around the SqueezePlay code I have a fully functioning full screen touch player.
    - Awesome!

Edna, this is wonderful to hear!
I have the eee top waiting to be mounted on the kitchen wall-with precisely this in mind!!!! (amplifier and speakers as in ready alert :-) )
Any chance to save me some of the hacking ?
    Thanks,
    Uri

Not allowed to distribute LUA code

Unfortunatly the LUA code of Squeezeplay is not open source - it is legal to modify it but not distribute the modifications.
The god news is that it is quite easy to make some modifications on your own.

Install squeezeplay and a LUA editor (I use notepad++ it is free and does the job)
Look for the .LUA file for the skin you want to modify and search for the call to "Framework:setVideoMode" - if you play with that line you are well on your way :-)

    Thumbs up

Hi there, this is great news. I'd like to have the eee top in my livingroom as an internet terminal, photo book and remote for my duet. There are 2 ways how to steer my squeeze players:
    1. through the slimservers web interface
    2. with squeezeplay
Where squeezeplay seems only a replacement for the duet remote? Since There is much more space on the touchscreen, I'm thinking of something more convenient like the iPeng. Any ideas on this?
@Edna, do you have some screenshots of your squeezeplay integration?

    Cheers, Lakeside

    Smile Some Screens

I attached some full screen captures.

Next plan is to increase the size of the virtual keyboard, it works ok as it is, but does not use all the screen space available.

Regarding iPeng, I use that on my iPod Touch - It is a great application well worth the price.

    Thumbs up Looks great

    Hi Edna
This is exactly what I'm thinking of. One more question: I have my SC running on a synology NAS, is it possible to use the Eee Top as controller replacement for the duet? I only want to control my players with the Eee.
    Thanks for the pics!
    Cheers, Lakeside

Yes you can use the EEETop to control other players.
Note that syncronization between softsqueeze and other players does not seem to work (yet) - but for control only that should not be a problem.
