Strange - I would have expected to see something there. If you see it again could you also check the server.plugins file to see if any plugins in there are in state needs-* as this is what should cause that message.

Definitely no indication which plugins are being updated
I have just received a message stating that my plugins have been updated and that I need to restart SBS. I then went to the plugins/Extension Downloader page and closed the pop-up, electing to restart later. I've looked really, really hard to find any plugins highlighted in bold text (or even any bold text at all) that might indicate which plugins are being updated, but could not find any.
In case this is a browser/css/html problem I'm using Firefox 3.53 on Windows XP Pro and the current latest 7.4.1 - r28887 @ Fri Oct 16 06:02:49 PDT 2009.

Do you have automatic update enabled? If so they will be upgraded on restart but there is currently no feedback on this (which I think should be fixed as a bug..)

I've been seeing the same issue - automatic update disabled.

Ok - we need to be really clear which messages you are seeing and when. Is this the message on the front page of the web interface, or on the plugin page? What exactly did it say? Do you have any manually installed versions of the same plugins in the system at the same time?
If its due to the plugin page showing that there are plugins which have been updated, then does it show when you go to another page and come back. If so can you enable plugin.extensions debugging and post this on a bug for the time when you see this.
I'm afraid extension downloader is complex as there's lots of distributed state in terms of all the async downloading and contents of the repos - I can't reproduce your problems at present, so I need a few more hints from the debugs..

OK. The message telling me to that there were updated plugins available was on the SBS web gui home page. I *do* have "Update all plugins automatcially" selected.
I need to get something clear. I have no evidence either way that any plugins needed updating. If I did then they probably updated fine and everything worked as exactly as I'd have expected it to... with one exception... there was no indication on the ED page informing me which plugins needed updating (or maybe more correctly, were being updated). I was under the impression (from a post form Phil above maybe??) that the plugins that needed updating would be highlighted in bold.
-----------------------
Before posting this I went to the ED page to make sure that I had selected "Update all plugins automatically". Despite no notifications anywhere (that I could see) the pop-up window appeared informing me that I needed to restart SBS for the updates to take affect (I have not made any updates since last posting and have restarte at least twice since then. I have done 2 full rescans though). I elected to restart later. Is it worth me turning on the debugging again to trap the restart pop-up for my next visit to the ED page, or is it to late now for useful info?
I think if I am the only one receiving oddities like this then it might be because of the "Additional" third party repositories I have added. I'm a bit dubious the first one of them. They are:
http://www.mikecappella.com/wallpaper/wallpapers.xml
http://erlandplugins.googlecode.com/...nk/testing.xml.
I have not installed any of Erlands beta plugins.
