Assign Playlist to a Preset?

I can assign internet radio and individual songs to a preset button, but the buttons do not accept a playlist file. If a preset button is pressed and held while playing a song in a playlist, only that song is assigned.

Can a m3u playlist be assigned to a button?

You simply add your playlists to "Favorites" and you can assign a specific favorite to a preset.

Just today I published an updated version of my KidsPlay plugin to my test repository, http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/slim7/repodata-test.xml** that allows you to reprogram any of the 6 Radio preset buttons to do more than just play presets. Your Radio must be connected to a local Squeezebox Server machine that has KidsPlay installed in order to do this (I hope to release an "applet" at some later date that would also work if you were connected directly to MySqueezebox.com). ** You'd need to add the URL http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/slim7/repodata-test.xml in the Additional Repositories area of the Plugins settings page to get the version that works with Radio, as it's not yet in my "live" repository that you'd see with the normal "Show all 3rd party plugins" option
