I can't find any way to configure the port number on SC which is why I wondered what it's using. As regards UDP, wol is not tied to any protocol as the receiver is scanning all frames. It does wake up when sent from the local network.

Can SqueezeCommander mute/reduce volume of all players when the phone rings?
It will only reduce the volume of whichever of my 2 players is selected. I thought it used to do both and wonder if I've played with something I shouldn't have.

it can be a server setting if you sync players you can optionally also sync volume or not

I thought that, but have never had the volume synced, either in squeezecommander or in lms.
I always have the players synced, although they're not always both turned on.

I may have imagined it reducing volume of both players, but if it does for other people without synced volume, I'd like it to for me too :-)

I use the muting function, but don't ever recall it handling multiple unsynced players (or perhaps I am not remembering properly myself; most of the time I have only one player running)

Does anyone know if it is possible to fast forward through a track using squeezecommander. I frequently listen to podcasts that can be over an hour long and I would like to be able to pick up where I left off rather than having to start at the beginning every time. This is pretty easy to do using the duet controller but I can't see any obvious way to do it with squeezecommander.

On the now playing screen, single tap on the artwork and it will bring up a track progress bar.
You can then drag the handle on that to the appropriate position in the track.

Not Quite working when connected by 3G

    Hi

I'm having a weird problem using squeezecommander on my HTC Desire Z when connecting via 3G

I have a dyndns.org hostname, and I have configured my router to forward port 9001 to my server correctly (I'm using port 9001 as I use 9000 for Twonky)

Now I can connect to the web interface on my phone, I can see what's playing and control my player OK so it all seems to be working OK. However the main music menu in Squeezecommander just never loads. I only have "search" and "settings" as menu items. Clicking search will even let me find and play music but the other menus (artists etc) never load. The now playing views and control of my player also works OK. I just can't browse music.

My server shows twice in the list of servers, once for my Dyndns address and once for the local IP address. When connected via WiFi the dyndns entry shows as a duplicate and I get a message "already connected to the server! Please us the local server "Joggler Music"

I tried ignoring the local server and then connnecting to the Dyndns server and weirdly I am unable to connect to the Dyndns entry when I am connected to my local network. I get an error message flash up of "java.net.ConnectException: mydyndnsname.dyndns.org/176.xxx.xxx.xxx:9001 - Connection refused"
the x's in that message are my Internet IP address and the mydyndnsname is my host name. Turning off WiFi let's me connect fine to this server.

I've tried the open source squeezer android app which although very basic does let me control and browse no problem connecting via dyndns so altogether I'm a little confused.

Does it need more ports LMS also uses port 3483 udp and tcp ,possibly also the CLI port 9090 or 9092 ? I'm not exactly sure .
