Just bought a new duet. Is there any way I can connect to internet radio without the server being on.
At the moment it will only work when the server is on.
TIA

Hi midnight
You should be able to use the internet radio without your server being on. In order to do this your duet needs to connect to a separate network maintained by logitech.
This is at www.mysqueezebox.com. When you set up your Duet you should have been asked to register it with an email address and password? You can go to www.mysqueezebox.com and login with these details. You should see your duet listed there?
Assuming you did this, on your Controller you can switch to this network by selecting "Settings>Advanced>Network>Switch to mysqueezebox.com".
You may need to do this while your PC running Squeezecenter is ON.
To switch back you select your "My Music" option on the home menu on the controller.
If you think this is slightly [very] confusing you are right, my understanding was that 7.4 of the software was supposed to make this process (switching between your local server and mysqueezebox) seamless, but this doesn't seem to be working too well at the moment.
Hope this helps.

When people say "server", I assume they mean their home computer -- unless you run some sort of business? Most people don't use the term "server" for a "regular" computer at home that happens to hold music files.
Most people just leave the home computer on all the time now. What with high speed FIOS and cable Internet connections.
I think its easier, with the Duet, and everything else, to just leave it on.

I meant the squeezebox centre server which yes is my laptop.
I don't want to leave my laptop on all the time as its tidier to close the lid and put it away.
Anyway, mysqueezebox doesn't seem to want to work for me.
Guess I'll hang on untill I do get a standalone server/NAS going.

Log into your MySB account via web UI, go to Players and make sure your Controller and Receiver are indeed registered to your account.

Ok sorted it now.
I had to disable my dynamic DNS service in my router.
Can't seem to get mySB to save any radio stations as favorites though????
