    Help Needed please

My Boom has been updating itself lately, its never been a problem.

Now though it fails to see the server. It connects to my wireless network and see it ok, and I can get all the internet radio stations, I just cant connect to me Mac desktop harddrive.

An easy answer would be great as I'm not that technically minded. Thanks in advance.

    Tony

Scroll through the Boom's main menu, go to "connect to SqueezeCenter" (might be Squeeze Server), arrow right to connect.

If it does not connect, try holding the LEFT arrow button to get into initial settings, scroll and look for your SC server there. It's IP may have changed.

    Yep tried that.

    Says No server detected.
    So scroll left.

It find IP address automatically but then says Server not detected.

I've checked my mac the Squeeze server is running.

So it finds my wireless and find a IP number automatically. Do I assume it finds the correct one?

If you have not tried yet……
Make sure SqueezeCenter (SC or SBS) is actually running on your computer.
    - Little icon showing in your system tray?
    - Little icon show green letters on it’s screen?
    - Hover your mouse over icon does it say “SC is running”?
    - Can you launch the SC UI on your computer?
    - Try stopping then starting SC again

If no go try a SB player reboot. Unplug SB player, plug back in, wait for network setup to complete.

If still no go try a complete Network reset:
    - unplug router (leave unplugged)
    - turn off computer (leave off)
    - unplug all SB players (leave unplugged)
    - turn off any/all devices on the network (leave off)

Now bring your network back up and in this order:
    - plug router back in, wait for it to COMPLETELY reboot
    - turn computer on, wait for it to COMPLETELY reboot
    - Launch SC, wait till it COMPLETELY loads and is running
    - plug SB players back in
    - best to not power on other networked devices just yet before SB players are functioning

    Select music source:
    No Squeezebox Server found.

Although there it is on my mac preferences saying Squeezebox Server running!

Aaaararrrrrrrghhhhh It was so simple to set up first time, but now I'm getting frustrated.

when was the last time you had it working properly, and have you installed anything since then?
You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...

Are you sure the device is connected to the same wireless network and
not a neighbor's one (for example)?

    Hi Ben

Lol yep definately connected to my wireless connection.

It connects fine to the Squeezenetwork/radio part, it just doesnt connect to my squeeze sever, even though it says Running on my mac.

Do you think re pairing it to my router might help and if so how do I do it?
