7.4 will not start on Mac OS 10.6.1

I should have known better, I should have waited, but I just couldn't and I installed 7.4 last night. When I try to start or restart Squeezebox Server, a mysqld process takes up about 70-80% of my CPU. I can't access the web interface, I've waited for 15-20 minutes, nothing changes. If I quit the process and manually start the server via System Preferences, this causes System Preferences to become unresponsive and beach ball. Finally if I wait long enough, quit the processes that seem to be hanging I can get the web interface to come up. If I restart my machine, the whole process starts over again. I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled 7.4 5 times with the exact same results. Any ideas?

For me 7.4 did start ok. But it took a good few minutes to do so the first time. I guess it was rescanning the library. If your library is large enough, it might well take more than twenty minutes to complete, though your log suggests there is something else going on.

However, when I tried to stop the server it failed, giving me the spinning beach ball.

You could create a new user and try the install under that name, you would have a clean "slate" to start with. Worth a try?

I realized I still had a few plugins up, I disabled those and here is the error I get now, symptoms still persist.

I could not get 7.4 up and running until support helped me remove all traces of squeeze software and start fresh with the nightly build of 7.4.1. All is working fine now.
