iTunes playlists to NAS Squeezecenter ?

I have my iTunes on my laptop, and my music library on my NAS. Squeezecenter on the NAS streams to Squeezeboxes.

My question is, can I get my iTunes playlists into the Squeezecenter ? Rescanning the music library does nothing because the playlists are on the laptop.

I tried exporting playlists from iTunes, which creates either text or .xml files. Those can be placed in the folder on the NAS which Squeezecenter identifies as the playlist folder. But Squeezecenter doesn't read those file formats. Is there a way to import the playlists ?

Just wondering if there was a good solution for this as I'm in the same place as OP.
