Couple of possibilities - and we'll need a bit more info to narrow it down:

What OS is Squeezecenter running on?
Are your music files on the same drive as Squeezecenter is running on - or are they on an external drive?
What format are the files and where did you get them from/how did you rip them?
Does Squeezecenter accept the Music Folder when you put it in settings?
Can you see the files in the library and just not play them, or are there no files at all in your Squeezecenter library?
Are you using iTunes or MusicIP?
Finally, did Squeezecenter try and do a scan when you first set it up - if so what is in your scanner.log file (WebInterface/Settings/Information scroll down for a link to it)?
    Who am I on LAST.FM?

    The OS in Windows XP,
The music files are located on my C: drive and the Sc is running on my D: drive,
    The files format are MP3's,
I can't see any music files in the Sc library, not using Itunes ore MusicIP,
And when i first set it up Sc didn't try or did a scan...
When i initiated a scan myself it didn't recognize anything...
Just to let you know, yesterday it worked fine on my old computer...
    Thanks !

I'm having the same problem. Here are the answers to your post in my case:
    1) Windows XP
    2) the music files are on an external drive
    3) I have the files in wav and flac. I ripped them with EAC
    4) It seems to accept the folder, but doesn' show sub-folders.
    5) There are no files in the library at all. While choosing the Music Folder SC didn't even detect the sub-folders
    6) no iTunes nor MusicIP

Check permissions on those folders and the main folder. "External disk" -
is this a usb device or a NAS?

    Hi,
thanks for taking the time to help out.
I just checked it was set on 'read only' and I changed that, but it didn't make a difference.
I'm using a USB external HD.
    thanks in advance
    regards

i'd double check the path you say the ext is on. if you don't see the sub folders during "browse folders" something serious and basic is wrong.

    Also same problem

I have a problem very similar and would also very much appreciate a solution. When I say similar it's because SqueezeServer finds some of my subfolders, but less than half of what I have.

I'm currently runing SqueezeServer 7.4 (started with 7.3 but had the same problem) on an WinXP system. I have my music organized like this:
    C:\Media\Artist\Album
It is some af the artist folders and their album folders that aren't found. At first I thought that the problem was the mp3 files, but when I wanted to isolate the scan to a specific artist folder it wasn't in the tree.

I've tried checking the folder type and read/write rights but have found no answers. I have also checked the tagging of the files without any luck. :-(

The only difference I have been able to find was in the folder properties. On some of the folders that can't be found, I'm not able to change the "hidden" setting, but it is not set so the folder is not hidden.

Hope someone can help, as I really would like to listen to the rest of my music collection...

    Kind regards

    Jakob
