Hi folks
Posted about this a couple of months back when I first got the Slim - I have
used it perhaps twice since, as playing music is next to impossible.
WLAN no worries, signal strength good, buffer always full.
The Analog out is absolutely perfect (except a bit muffled) but what I
REALLY want to do is pipe out the Digital COAX or Optical into my Yamaha
home cinema DAC (Yamaha DSP E800)
It works fine and the music quality is very good indeed BUT back in April I
had the problem that I could only get music for about a 1 second burst out
of every three seconds - so clearly no good.
(I have been playing MP3s of various bitrates)
I have recently updated to server 5.1.6 and firmware 25 - and have tweaked
the audio start up time (new option) that seems to allow DACs longer to
synch?
Unfortunately exactly the same problem occurs, music for only 1 second out
of every 3 or so - arrrgh!
So, can anyone suggest anything, so that I dont put the Slim back in its box
for another two months?
Many thanks
R

Rob,
If the analog out sounds fine but the digital output is breaking up, it
may be that you have a hardware problem with your player.
Contact support (AT) slimdevices (DOT) com and Kevin will help you find out what's
going on.

p.s. The one thing that might be an issue is if the MP3s are at a
sample rate that your receiver doesn't support. If these were ripped
from CD, then this probably isn't the issue.
