quick questions regarding the monkey's audio files.

I learned through this forum that .ape files are actually transcoded by SC, I checked after I saw on my SB3 that ape files were converted to ABR with lower bitrate.

Therefore, it is recommended to convert the ape files to .flac for smoother use with the SC.
I would guess that there isnt any lost of quality of the files by converting ape to flac, from lossless to lossless, am I right?

Why does the SC not decode as native the Monkey audio files, just as it does with the flac files? ape is quite common files and many people do use it.

Is there a soft that would help me to convert one big ape file with his cue file, to splitted flac files? Can foobar or dbpoweramp perform this?
