Hi,
Now I know why people are getting mad time to time. :-)
I just received my delivery wit few duets in it... and of course started configuring it.
What I have now:
Duet connected to the net wired to Switch.
SqueezeCenter is installed on the Linux and works well. I can connect to my Squeeze account and play radio out of it.
I also could manage CD playback.
Connecting the Duet Receiver and Remote I could manage Bridge mode working.
Now my remote can connect to the SqueezeCenter via the Receiver - this was great achievement for me.
But... this is where I was a bit lost and going between madness and frustration.
I do not see my Duet Received in the game. It did not appear in my Squeeze center, neither in the Remote to be used in any way.
My understanding is I need to get a PIN to get my Duet receiver connected/registered into the SqueezeNet, but where can I get this PIN?
The documentation says nothing about this PIN, but the registration page requires it from me.
I know my MAC address, but the number out of it was not a valid value (not working as a PIN)
I would very appreciate your support in this! Otherwise it works as a remote for my PC, what I would not buy for such money, at list this was not an intention.
I would like to have my music played...

Sorry but I'm not clear on what you want to do. You say you have the controller working in bridged mode so I assume you do not have a wireless network. You are able to play internet radio from Squeezenetwork and are also able to play ripped CD's from Squeezecenter. Are you now trying to use the controller as a player?

Sorry, emotions were overwhelming
I have possibility to connect to the SC on Linux box.
I can do what ever I wish on it… but music comes only on the PC
I have not been successful to get any sound from the Duet Receiver. It is connected to the net, it works as a bridge, but does not work as a receiver (no music out of it) and I did not find any information about what I need to do to get it connected to the SqueezeNet.
In the SqueezeNet site I need to enter the PIN to have my receiver registered, but I cannot find/get PIN
And when I go to the receiver menu on the remote – it shows only the SC, which I’ve entered as a source by providing IP address.
If I press on SquezeNet – it does not get connected to the server (in the internet)
The network itself works fine, no any issue there.

It sounds like you want to get your receiver to play music from your Linux PC's running copy of SqueezeCenter. For this mode, you don't want to connect the Receiver to SqueezeNetwork. You just want it to connect to your SqueezeCenter. SqueezeCenter will proxy all access to SqueezeNetwork services.
You may also want to verify that your Receiver is listed in the drop down in the upper right. This allows you to pick which player you're using.

no, receiver is not listed in the dropdown box.
The list includes the PC'c receiver only
and how I may listen music in case the PC is off?

In that case, you ask the reciever to connect to squeezenetwork.
SN exists to manage your online services. The device connects either to SN directly or via SC as the above poster mentioned.
There are advantages and disadvantages of both - I choose to connect through an always on (or asleep) low-power server so I can easily jump between my own library and internet services (I use about 60:40 internet:library).
Good luck - I can't remember where the reciever pin comes from but for sure the mac address won't work. Someone will help you. Hang in there
I don't understand what you mean by 'the PCs reciever' - have you installed softqueeze, squeezeslave, squeezeplay or something like that? Probably what appears in the list is the PC server in the server menu (the same drop down list, under the little line).Lounge: SB3 + Genelec 6010A | Kitchen: SB3 + $80 bookshelf stereo. I'm sorry but I still don't understand where you are at in the setup process. If I remember correctly, I selected the option to connect to Squeezenetwork as the music source from the controller during setup and Squeezenetwork automatically provided the PIN. I then provided that PIN when I registered for a Squeezenetwork account. You should be able to view the assigned PIN by connecting to Squeezenetwork and selecting settings from the controller. The PIN should be displayed on the screen. I would suggest the you contact Logitech support to work through your setup issues.

Ok, I'll try to explain where I am (in the process).
I've installed the SqueezeCenter (further in the text SC) server on my SUSE Linux box
this was fine.
I have an account in the SqueezeNet (further in the text SN) - it works.
I can listen the radio on the PC.
I've installed VLC on the box and it works as a receiver as well - receives the mp3 stream - this is what mean by the PC receiver.
I've tried to get the Soft SquizeBox, but it was not so successful.
then I've installed SB Duet. The activation was more or less fine (screen, light blinking ;-) ), but I could not get to the SN, neither connect to my SC server. The setup did no show any PIN or anything.
At some point of time (I had to stop firewall complete on Linux box) I could get remote connected to SC via SqueezeBox Duet receiver. It was working as a bridge only, but I could not get the access to the receiver, neither it was shown on SC in the drop-down list.
the receiver was not identified by SC and was not listed as a receiver in "Chose receiver" menu - it was NOT in the list. this was driving me just mad.
After several resets I could get the connection to the SC server. and I've repeated this action many times to get all my 3 Duet Receivers connected.
then we had a walk with kids.
when we were back I was trying to get access to the Duet receiver (using the remote). After being off it could not get access back... but when I was trying to get access to the net... the remote has shown me a PIN
I was just angry. Why it is so difficult to get (show) it from the first time - I mean why I need to go through this "pain" to get the PIN.
I understand that I need to get components paired somehow, but why it is not possible to get some access to it (menu or some other type of access entering)
but...
I have two remotes.
after entering PIN in first... second remote has lost connection to any other Duet Receivers. i had to re-pair one of them to get the connection back.
I really like my new toys, especially now I am on the way to get out of the CD change process - what it a pain, especially when I like one piece from one and second from another CD...
now it looks much better. I get at least one PIN from 3 (two still to get). but now i see what and how needs to be done to get the process moving.
now.. happiness... all of them work
I've tried to have them working in Sync - it is perfect!
it is what I always wanted! and actually the first buyer is my wife - she is happy to have a music in the kitchen - it was not there till last days
next step is: RIP CDs... what would be a mission for some days and... move staff to Low power PC to get the whole set-up "Green"
(I've gust replaced the switch in the net to the green one with very low energy consumption)
heh... thanks to all of you.
It was great support in getting the final decision made and for support with my potentially silly questions.
all of my boxes work great! sound is perfect and I could listen music from radio stations, which are simply not reachable from my cable provider neither from air.
