Anyone notice a degrade in audio quality in version 62 firmware for squeezebox versus version 61?
The quality of lows and highs are not as good when Squeeze Network updated to version 62. I thought it was my imagination at first, but when I switched to Squeezecenter (which was an older version and updated the firmware of the squeezebox back to firmware 61), I really noticed the difference.
Is there a way for me to get version 61 back when playing on Squeeze Network?

The only real difference I can find with 62 is fixes to the ogg streaming support.

I'm sure the sound difference you hear is psychosomatic.

Give me a break, it is your imagination. Only 1 line of code was changed between FW 61 and 62. There is no change to audio quality.

Hey...I don't care how many lines of code have changed. I compared 61 to 62 and on MY SYSTEMS there was a noticable difference (and still is). The noticable difference was for streaming media like Rhapsody and Pandora (which is all I listen to).
So, you can take that info and do what you want to with it....but it is what it is.Last edited by jeffcoles; 2009-07-04 at 15:33.

One way you could possibly prove your case is to make a recording of each one so others can compare the difference.
