7.3.3 Recommended?

I’m currently using the Duet with 7.3.2 with relatively minor problems (annoyances), such as strange issues with the controller (turning itself on) and an issue or two switching between SN and SC. For the most part however, I am able to enjoy a good steady stream of music. I once read on this forum, “If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it.” I have not upgraded to 7.3.3 yet because I don’t want to experience any real issues. What is the consensus on the new upgrade? Is 7.3.3 a worthwhile upgrade for Duet users??

I haven't used 7.3.3 (been using 7.4 betas for a while not) so I can't speak from personal experience, but there was a lot of work done in 7.3.3 for Duet users.

If it was me, I would try 7.3.3, and if you have issues, document and report them, that way they get fixed in a subsequent release. But not just for you, everyone benefits

I've been using 7.3.3 for over a month now (starting with one of the later Beta versions), and I've had no issues. I was having some minor annoyances with 7.3.2 as well, which was why I didn't wait for the final release, and the latest version seems very stable - and the minor Controller issues I was experiencing have gone away (although it still takes longer for the SBC to "wake up" from idle than I'd like).

I've been using 7.3.3 on Debian extensively since it was released and I haven't encountered any problems whatsoever. It's improved the scrolling response on the controller which is quite noticeable in use and has carried on working flawlessly otherwise, so I can't find any reason to fault it.

I have seen reports of a few issues on Windows but I haven't read too deeply into them since I'm not using this platform for SqueezeCenter.

I tried....but I had to wipe 7.3.3 clean and reload 7.3.2. For some reason, when I loaded 7.3.3 (twice actually. I did it once, then did a clean install a second time) the file "Music Folder" just disappeared - nowhere to be found on the controller in settings or anywhere else. I will have to talk to the level II techs at Logitech on Monday, since the level I guys were baffled.

Where are we, if anywhere, with the Audio Out jack on Controller in 7.3.3?

I'm one of the lucky few whose Controller - with the set-up below - worked as a Player pretty much out-of-the-box (once I'd gone SETTINGS-ADVANCED_ENABLE BETA), and I'm very reluctant to take a step or two backwards.....

Yes, I do have Controller issues with re-buffering (though only at extreme range), and some of the Menu oddities could drive you to drink..... But, it all pretty much works. Anyone who had a working Controller-as-Player found it's stopped working under 7.3.3?

I was actually stuck at 7.2.1 for quite some time. I had tried each 7.3.x release when it came out and had a variety of issues each time - mainly dropouts while streaming my music and music from Slacker.

I loaded up 7.3.3 a week or so ago and haven't looked back since. I even have MusicIP back up and running.

I have also been trying the controller playback with each release. Each time, I would experience dropouts every couple minutes or so. With the latest controller FW, I've played several complete albums without a single dropout. This was also with some walking around the house while it was playing.

Also, the sync playback of multiple squeezeboxes works very well and the UI for it is more intuitive than it once was.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with 7.3.3.
