    UI Lag - Now All SBs Unusable

    Over the last couple of years I've had one SB3, one Duet and one Boom running quite nicely.

    Over the last few weeks I have been running the latest SC nightlies and ignoring a few bugs already known about I have had no problems.

    My SC (7.3.3 - 26751) resides on a machine easily powerful enough: Win Vista x64, Intel Quad Core Q6600 with 2Gb RAM.

    Now on all my SqueezeBoxes the response to user input has suddenly become so bad that I can no longer use them properly. For sake of simplicity I will describe the problem I have with my SB3 connected via wired ethernet although the same happens with all my SqueezeBoxes:

    Whenever I press a button on the remote most of the time the command seems to either get lost completely or happens several seconds after the press.

    I have the following info from Sever Performance Statistics:

    IR Queue Length
    The delay between an IR key press being received and being processed.

    and after setting a 0.5 threshold my performance log looks like this:

    [09-06-09 15:40:44.1261] Timer Late > 0.5 : 8.52600

    [09-06-09 15:41:21.2140] Timer Task > 0.5 : 18.68839 Slim::Web::Cometd::disconnectClient
    So it looks like there is plenty of evidence for what is happening but I have no idea why.

    If anyone can help I'd appreciate it - I seem to have lost my entire SqueezeBox setup!

    Thanks!

    Have you tried rebooting your router?

    Mine would drop packets like mad when it ran low on memory due to memory leaks in the router.

    Well I thought I'd ruled out the router since I tried restarting SC and that fixed the problem instantly, although only for a minute or so. I didn't mention that above.

    I'm thinking that doesn't necessarily rule out the router so I'll try rebooting that and then post back in a while.
