Hi,
Pandora informs me that although the new Pandora One service includes 192 kbps broadcasting, through the squeezebox it only plays the standard 128 kbps. Can someone shed some light on why this is? Where is the bottleneck? Is there anything that can be done from Logitech's end to make it possible to play Pandora One's 192 kbps stream through the squeezebox?
Thanks!

I asked Pandora and they said....
"Hello James,
Thanks for writing back - Also, thank you for upgrading to Pandora One! That is a wonderful way to support Pandora - we truly appreciate it.
As for your question about the audio quality and your device, Pandora One will only stream at the Higher Quality 192kbs on the WEB using your computer. This feature does not extend to other devices. We do not have information at this time if that will change in the future.
I hope this information has been helpful. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you.
Best Regards,
Josh

I agree it will be great when Pandora streams at 192kb to the Squeezebox. I am a subscriber to both Pandora and Rhapsody and the Rhapsody audio at 192kb sounds very nice on a good system. Certainly 'audiophile' quality in my opinion.
I find Pandora and Rhapsody complement each other. Pandora is better at finding new music I might like and when a song plays that I am interested in, I can use the SB menu to select "on Rhapsody" and it takes me straight to the album so I can add it to my Rhapsody library and listen to it (in better quality at 192kb) later.

I came here looking for why I'm not getting 192 and found this thread.
Can the developer(s) comment on the current ETA/ETC/LOE on getting the 192 implemented?
I have two slim devices units for the sole purpose of listening to Pandora and would really like to leverage the new bitrate available to subscribers.
thanks.

Unfortunately, you will have to ask Pandora. The ball is in their
court.
