SSODS 3.17 wont start Squeezecenter

Hi Ashrob.

I would love to try this fix out for my TS209II's SSODS install but I haven't a clue how to browse folders on the QNAP, never mind find this one and then delete it. Could somebody please point me in the direction of a tutorial that can teach me how to do that please?

I'm not a Linux guru and i would recommend you to have a look at WinSCP tool, which is TotalCommander-alike freeware tool to browse Linux folders. It is very useful for setting filepermissions as well.

Update: After installation of SSODS 3.17 and following the errata (removing Template*, replacing the Audio-Scan perl module), Squeezecenter starts on my DS-107+. I can play music, however scanning my music collection for new or changed songs does not work. No sign of progress, no entries regarding the scanning process in Scanner log nor Server log.

Then I installed SSODS 3.16 (no problem going back from 3.17 to 3.16), restarted my DS-107+ and everything works fine again now.

Same behaviour on my TS-109-II. I removed Template*, but did not replace the Audio Scan module.

You have the wrong (too old) version of the Audio::Scan module.

Either use the stable release of SqueezeCenter (recommended), which doesn't need that module, or upgrade the Audio-Scan module. The SSODS page is where you want to look for that.. ;-)

Thanks - it worked after I installed SC 7.3.2-24695, deleted /volume1/SqueezeCenter/CPAN/Template* (both the folder and the file) and restarted SC.

I still get this in the log, though, when I restart SC:

Should I worry (or do something) about lines 15 and 16? The Danish text in line 15 says that the plugin is incompatible with this version of SC and that it needs updating.

Just tried a clean install of 3.17+fixes = No scanning.

3.16 scans without any problems.

So some of the updated modules in 3.17 seems to break the scanning. (QNAP TurboStation TS-209 / 3.0.0 build 0430T)

Just installed SSODS 3.17 over the weekend having used 3.15 for many months with absolutely no problems. After installing it I was totally uinable to access Squeezecentre, I had the same error messages as the 1st posting on this thread.
Reinstalled 3.15 and all problems went away, now back to normal working 100% as before.
There must be something in this new release that is having serious issues with some of us.................!!

I can confirm this also tried ssots 3.17 thru qnap. No scanning and no interface. So i wait till they fix this problem because ssots 3.15 is doing fine for me now.

Automatic scans don't run, and when I initiate a manual scan the web interface shows that it starts, but after a few seconds the reindexing message disappears again, and there are no entries in neither the server nor the scanner log.

Manually browsing to the new music via Music Folder on the Controller or web UI works, though, and music found this way stays reindexed, so this is what I will do for now.
