    SqueezeCenter Web Interface

I control my SB devices through the SqueezeCenter Web Interface. I have been using the standard protocol http://10.0.1.201:9000/status.suffix...ram2&p3=param3

I enabled username and password security on the SC today and now it doesnt allow me to use the Web interface URL commands due to authorization errors. How do I authenticate when using the SqueezeCenter Web Interface? Is there a Username and password syntax I build into the URL?

I don't know if it works with SqueezeCenter, but the standard convension is as follows:

    usernameassword@Sitename

So that would make it http://username:[email protected]:...ram2&p3=param3

    Worth a shot

Thanks I tried it but it results in the browser being unable to interpret the URL.

        What browser is that with?

I've just set up SC to require passwrds, and it does interperate the userass@server correctly.

However, IE blocks it, I assume it is for security reasons. Opera lets it through but does warn you that the URL contains a username, it also blanks out the actual password string with "****".

IE8. Sounds like IE is the problem.

Sounds like it. It's IE8 I have installed here as well.

There may be a security setting you can change to enable this functionality.

Edit: Just looked and thee doesn't appear to be.

I hope you learned your lesson.

Anyway try out some nice add-ons:

                Speed dial
                adblocker plus
                tab mix plus
                all in one gestures
                gmail notifier
foxtab (you won't believe this one)

Just go tools -> add-ons and type them in. Try them and uninstall if you don't like.
