    SB3 time problem

Thank you Tired Legs (and others) for your efforts to bring this install procedure for us. I have no Linux experience or knowledge, yet with these instructions I have been able to set up my LS Pro in just about 20 mins. Truly, thanks a million.

    However, I have 2 niggles:
    a) My SB3 seems not to recognise Daylight Saving Time. The time displayed is gmt, but based in the UK, we are currently gmt+1 for DST. I cannot find any way to correct this.
    b) My pc is running Squeezeserver(center?) v7.5.3 and keeps reminding me that there is a software update. The url is 192.168.1.130:9000 and the library location is Z: being the mapped drive location I have for my LS music share file. Can I upgrade the pc SC, or how do I turn off the software update reminder? (I'd be happy just to turn off the reminder)

    Thanks again, Mike

Mike - regarding question (a), I had thata issue too and it turned out to be a Buffalo NAS problem. You need to go into the NAS admin and set/adjust the time for daylight savings. Then your SBs will pick it up.

Thank you. I just knew it would be as simple as that but be blowed if I could find it. Time displayed has been corrected.

As for problem 2, as my pc seems to be running independently of my NAS ( it does not have a player registered), I've decided to acquiesce and upgrade.

    Thanks again, Mike

Need Help. Don´t know what to do... :-(

    Hi,

my Name is Florian and i am from Germany. So for me it is very difficult to understand the forum textes. But i try and do my best. i think i have to say sorry for my bad english. But i hop you understand my problem and can help me.
Last week i bought a Squeezebox touch and since this time i try to get access on my Buffalo LinkStation Live LS-CH2.0TL V2. I read a (very) lot of parts of different forum textes. Now i am at the point where little scrote on site 36 also was. I have the problem with the port 23 ! I followed the described link to the forum.buffalo.nas-central and now i dont know what to do!!!!!! :-(
(Shall i download it and if yes which version. And how can i change the root password to standard?)

Especially because i read a lot of some problems with the 7.3.3 Squeezecenter software. (What is actuall? Is this one better?) And when I´m right, is the description of tiredLegs for this version. Or not? Please tell me what to do.

    Thanks a lot from Germany

    Florian

    Hi Florian,

Your English is certainly good enough.

If you follow all of my posts in this thread, you will see that I solved it by using Putty instead of Telnet.

    Hi there,

I've been running my squeezebox duet from my PC for a while and am thinking of going down the NAS route. I have other uses for a NAS so it's a good option for me. I've been looking at this Buffalo LinkStation Duo 4TB, but I can't help noticing this post refers to the Pro version, which I can't see any benefit of paying the extra for.

Is there a reason to buy the Pro model over the non-Pro? As far as I can tell the non-Pro is better specced with Sata II disks rather than Sata I. Will the instructions in this thread work for the non-Pro?

    Cheers
    Russ

I suspect these days most LinkStation people use SSODS by flipflip (http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods) - it works very well and supports a recent version of SBS (7.6.1).
    Players SB Radio 7.7.2-r9663 (bedroom/alarm), SqueezePlayOS v1.09(SP v1.53) on O2 Joggler (kitchen), (in progress) SB Touch/Quad 606/Heybrook .5 (office)
Server LMS 7.7.2-r33893 on Synology DS213+ NAS. Library ~4000 tracks & but mostly listen to BBC.
    (Previously SBS 7.6.1 using SSODS(thanks flip!) on LS-XHL; SBS 7.6 on O2 Joggler/Ubuntu; SBS 7.3.3 on LS-GL using ipkg)

Slimserver stopped working and will not restart!

    Hi

    Could someone please help!

I installed Slimserver onto my LinkStation Live effortlessly using these TiredLegs Instructions months ago and it has worked well.

This morning I switched my player on and the server was not present, I attempted to log onto the webpage and it refused. Today I have removed and reinstalled as per instructions and everything seems to go ok.

When I start slimserver it starts and on checking the status it appears to run for about 30 secs and then stops. I do not know why this is happening.

Is there a log that is kept that might show me what the problem is? If so where is it stored and how do I access it?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Best Wishes

    Geoff
