    Evening all,

Well these instructions are MUCH simpler than any others I've seen.
However. All going well, at the last step
    /opt/etc/init.d/S99squeezecenter start

    get
Starting Slimserver /opt/etc/init.d/S99squeezecenter start: line 44 log: no such file or directory.
Slimserver failed to run. Return value: 1

    What does this mean?
    The IP I chose was 192.168.0.130 - note 0 not 1.
All the steps I replaced the 1 with a 0.

Please help, I feel I'm so close yet a million miles away..

please remember to set a password for the mysql root user !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
    /opt/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
    /opt/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h linkstation password 'new-password'
see the manual for more instructions.

You can start the mysql daemon with:
    Cd /opt ; /opt/bin/mysqld_safe &

you can test the mysql daemon with the benchmarks in the 'sql-bench' directory:
    Cd sql-bench ; perl run-all-tests

please report any problems with the /opt/bin/mysqlbug script!

Which exact model of LinkStation do you have?
Does the Buffalo NAS Navigator software find the LinkStation?

    OK Tiredlegs, it's all sorted.
What had happened was that whilst I was performing this, Memeo has began backing up my laptop unbeknown to me to the Linkstation so it was no longer formatted.

After a few fearful minutes, I reset the linkstation by holding down the function button and then reformatted - this took about 5 attempts to format both hard drives as I kept getting red and yello exclamation marks.
Once done, the warning signs stopped, I repeated the process outlined on page 1 and I am pleased to say it worked a treat.
great instructions and FYI this is the Linkstation Pro Duo
I now have my squeezebox playing and the PC off - well not right now otherwise I wouldn't be typing this

Now, I need to get my Xbox to stream from the Linstation - any tips!!?

Glad to see you're up and running. I don't have an Xbox, so I can't help you with that, but you could start a new thread within the 3rd Party Hardware forum asking about streaming from LinkStation to Xbox.

    One more question!

Now that my squeezecenter is on 192.168.0.130:9000 that's cool.
However, I just tried the webaccess for the first time to externally I can get onto the hard drive.
It seems this also uses port 9000, is this going to cause an issue?

As noted in the first post of this thread, LinkStation Live web access is also set by default to use port 9000, which does cause conflicts. See post #88 [http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpo...&postcount=88] for recommended workaround.

I've installed Squeezecenter 7.3.1 on my LinkStation Live LS-CHL follow Vespa's instruction.
To install the latest release (7.3.3) what do I do?

In answer to my Xbox 360 query, there is a how to post here:
    http://www.avforums.com/forums/strea...ation-pro.html

    Worked fine on mine.

However, after a restart of Linkstation today I can no longer get into 192.168.0.130:9001 (Squeezecenter) or 192.168.0.130:9003 (Twonky).
It just says page cannot be displayed, would anyone be able to help please?
