Thanks very much for posting this information. I just successfully purchased a Duet system for $269.99 with free delivery.

Despite the problems I've read about here, I've decided to go ahead and buy one. I have been closely watching eBay for used models -- they usually go for $270 to $300. With your heads up, I was able to get one directly from Logitech (with the 30-day money back guarantee) for less.

I just want to thank Cough for the lead on the Duet. I ordered one this weekend and it arrived today - $269 delivered. The receiver and controller are perfect (I had to look twice to see the dent in the box) and I had the controller configured within a couple of minutes.

The offer is a great deal unless one is into saving boxes for posterity.

I don't believe they previously offered "dented box" Duets. My guess is that by saying the boxes are 'dented' they can offer the products at a discount to what they would sell for from a retailer...and *conveniently* make a few extra bucks over what they usually sell them for wholesale by bypassing the distributor chain.
