I installed Softsqueeze using the Extension Downloader method. The 1st time, - checksum error. The 2nd time seemed OK. The plugin is listed in my PlugIns list.
The Player page says "Your Player was not found."
Any advice?

Installed using the Extension Downloader. No errors at all, all working excellent. Terrible synchronisation though. ;-)

Beta works quite well, and seems rock solid. Works well with wma and alienbbc.
Thanks BPA. It solves a problem of accessing the server while traveling. And buys time for squeezeplay

Problems with SoftSqueeze 3.9b1 under 7.4
Hi there,
yesterday I had a go at installing the SoftSqueeze beta. SC was working fine and then I installed SoftSqueeze 3.9b1 through the extension repository. This prompted me to reboot and then I found that SC wasn't started. Whenever I tried to start it it would tell me it's starting and then just stop again. My next course of action was to uninstall it and reinstall, but it won't install. This morning I got the new SC build downloaded and I tried that, but that will not install either. See a screen shot of the install process at: http://www.toppy.org.uk/~chunkywizar...ezeBox/WHS.jpg
So, a couple of questions. How can I deinstall SoftSqueeze (without being able to start SC) and how can I find out if it is indeed that causing the issue. Any ideas appreciated.

See the answer to your duplciate post. It is not a good idea to cross post as it makes it hard to trace answers.

Sorry about the duplicate post. I was unsure if the author of SoftSqueeze would read the beta forum. By all means close this thread and i'll continue the conversation there.
Cheers

synchronize
I have to agree with Club1820 - since the change up to squeeze center, synchonization with softsqueeze is terrible. I periodically hunt for tips or tricks to try (which is why I have looked here again). Still sucks, unfortunately. So I sync my 3 squeezeboxes, but not my computer.

I have attempted this installation method, but run into problems.
On the server (Ubuntu 8.10/ SC 7.3.2), attempting to bring up the extras/Softsqueeze frame hangs - the frame just remains blank.
On a windows client (Win XP SP3), I can get as far as installing, but an error is reported - that it can't find mp3spi1.9.2.jar. Now, this could be because mp3spi1.9.4.jar appears in the lib folder, but the softsqueeze.jnlp references mp3spi1.9.2.jar. However, editing the jnlp doesn't seem to fix the problem. I also note that the jnlp references jl1.0.jar but jl1.0.1.jar appears in the lib folder.
