OK, I grabbed the SlimServer_v2003-11-20 build, but it still won't play a
remote stream. Ethereal shows slimserver contacting Radio Paradise and
accepting the redirect to the stream. It also shows stream data coming into
the server. But I see no data packets going from the server to the slimpy.
Only display commands and one sequence of 3 I2C request/response pairs,
followed by an MPEG Data reset that draws an ACK from slimpy. No data.
It really looks like the server is opening the stream but then failing to read
from it. I'm not sure where in the source I should be looking.
I can pack up the etheral dump if anyone's interested. Regular playback from
the local mp3 tree is working fine.

Which operating system are you using?

Gentoo Linux 1.4, Athlon 1900+, 1 GB RAM, perl 5.8.0, and I tried it both as a
pedestrian and as root. Just for grins, I fired up XMMS, pointed it at the
slimserver's stream and tried to feed it Radio Paradise. Same result, so I
don't think it's the hardware.

I've fixed a serious bug in radio and have posted it to the nightly
directory here:
http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/
Try that and see if it improves things for you.

Much improved, Dean. The RP stream plays now. I got a couple episodes where
the stream started stuttering really bad after a few minutes, but it's not
repeating just now. I'll keep an ear on it. I'm switching back and forth
between the standard and Fishbone skins to see if skin activity has any
effect on the stuttering symptom.
Some interesting changes from yesterday, looking at the diff. I was looking
way too high for the streaming problem.

Re: 5.0.1 still won't play remote streams for me
Well, the stuttering playback hasn't repeated in over 6 hours of stream
playback, so it must have been a coincidental network flub. All functions
appear solid for me now. Thanks again, Dean & Co. for a great product!
